Logic Flows
Logic flows in OwlGen provides a visual way of designing and creating complex business logic, workflows, UI event handlers without the need for extensive coding knowledge. Logic flow designer comes with a drag-and-drop interface that allows you to create logic flows by dragging and dropping pre-built constructs onto a canvas and an expression builder to implement assignment expressions.
Logic flows typically consist of a series of interconnected constructs, each of which performs a specific action or operation. These components may include assignments, conditions, loops, data transformations, calling API's, calling other logic flows and more. Users can arrange and connect these components in a way that defines the desired application logic.
Logic flows support asynchronous programming paradigm that allow tasks to be executed independently and concurrently without blocking the execution of other tasks. It enables the efficient handling of operations that may take a significant amount of time, such as network requests, or database queries, without halting the entire flow.
In traditional synchronous programming, tasks are executed sequentially. Each task must complete before the program moves on to the next one. This can lead to blocking or waiting periods, especially when performing time-consuming operations. Asynchronous programming, on the other hand, allows tasks to be initiated and then continued with other tasks while waiting for the completion of the asynchronous task. Async/Await simplifies asynchronous programming. It improves code readability, reduces callback hell (in events and client flows), enhances error handling, and provides a more intuitive and synchronous-like coding experience.
Following are the types of logic flows:
- Events
- Client Flows
- Server Flows
- Workflows
